I use arcsde 9.3. I want to access a geodatabase on mobile. when I want to create new geodatabase in the list of database servers in arccatalog the error is "error creating geodatabase no arcsde server license found" . but there is no option to install in the cd of arcsde instead of post installation. what can I do?

Are you trying to create a new database connection? Do you have SDE installed anywhere? What license level do you have? Open up the Desktop Administrator and check. – Jamie Oct 11 '11 at 3:13
yes . I want to create a new database and I have installed SDE from seperate cd of arcSDE 9.3 . which part of Desktop Administrator do you mean?In license manager tab it is "localhost" – naiemeh Oct 11 '11 at 6:10
@naiemeh ArcSDE always sits on top of a DBMS. You must have used either Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Informix or DB2. If you can let us know this and whether ArcSDE Enterprise, Workgroup or Personal has been installed, we may be able to help you with suggestions on how to create a new geodatabase. – Thomas Oct 12 '11 at 9:25

thie is the error when I wanted to crate new geodatabase in ArcCatalog"Error creating this geodatabase, No ArcSDE server license found".but I have attached a database from the server to the database server in arccatalog. is this the setting problem or installation dificulty? – naiemeh Oct 19 '11 at 10:33
