A number of products seem to be implementing the server side of the OGC Web Processing Service (WPS 1.0.0) and these are listed here.

However, for the client side there are fewer options.

Has anyone come across any free WPS client software that can be installed on Windows and be ready to connect to a WPS 1.0.0 server from another vendor/team?

QGIS has a plugin that supports WPS 1.0.0. Just search for "WPS" in the plugin installer.

Note: I can't tell you much about it as I have never had a use case for it.

Thanks Nathan - a plugin for QGIS represents a good option but I've not been able to locate it in QGIS 1.7.1 under Plugins|Manage Plugins - is there a trick to finding it? – PolyGeo Oct 11 '11 at 1:55
Trying using the plugin Installer. Plugins|Install Plugins – Nathan W Oct 11 '11 at 3:28
I've checked Plugins|Fetch Python Plugins which brings up the Python Plugin Installer but there are only 6 present (WPS not amongst them) - does that perhaps mean that the one for WPS is not available for QGIS 1.7.1 / Windows yet? – PolyGeo Oct 11 '11 at 5:16
Open the plugin install and click on the Repositories and click Add 3rd party repositories and then click back on the Plugins tab. – Nathan W Oct 11 '11 at 5:22
Thanks Nathan - that's what I was missing - all installed now! – PolyGeo Oct 11 '11 at 5:27
