I have a point layer. Of which I have just selected 15 points from the attribute table manually and say show selected attributes. Of these 15 one point does not get highlighted the rest do fine. When I click on that feature with that identify option it does show me the attributes. What might the possible reasons ?

Are some of the points at the same location (on top of each other)? If so you wouldn't see all of them selected? Also, what version of QGIS are you using? – James S Feb 15 '12 at 8:57
Yes that might be one of the case. Any workarounds to overcome this issue. This is affecting the display of point which show the affected location. – SNT Feb 15 '12 at 9:05
In the vector style properties you have a "point displacement" renderer, that allows you to see in a "exploded" way the points are very near or on top of each other. – Giovanni Manghi Feb 15 '12 at 9:42
And where is this option, in general options or each layer option. – SNT Feb 15 '12 at 10:02
Look at page 49 of the 1.7 QGIS manual. See also figure 4.12 – Giovanni Manghi Feb 15 '12 at 13:04

Open and close the layer. Ensure the attribute table gets closed.
