There are a few simple features that made the "old" Esri forums very useful.

  1. Marking a post as answered
  2. MVP point structure

Does anyone know when will Esri re-introduce these features in the "new" forums?

There was some discussions about it here: but no answer from ESRI. – MathiasWestin Oct 1 '10 at 13:23
Maybe a better option would be to post questions to I know it isn't an ESRI forum replacement at the moment, but I think it has potential. see:… – Jay Cummins Oct 1 '10 at 13:51

Also might be worthwhile to highlight it in the just so that it can be pushed through on both environments.

ESRI says it's coming...

Just added a response to that post. I think it would be great if ESRI were to adapt a "similar" style (in regards to reputation/kudos) to Stack Overflow. Ive seen countless threads in the old forums, where 3 people seriously helped someone, but only one could be rewarded points for it. – Simon Oct 9 '10 at 0:22
I could not agree more. I think they are having some technical difficulties with the forum software. – Jakub Oct 9 '10 at 2:16
The ESRI forums have been a great resource for me for the last 6yrs. I would encourage users to voice their opinions on the thread that Jakub mentioned. I think it would be awesome if ESRI were to adopt a similar style kudos system to Stack Exchange - they seem to have recognised this on the forum post. More voices = more likely. – Simon Oct 16 '10 at 12:29

It is not a one to one replacement for the old Esri Discussion Forums, but in mid-2014 Esri launched GeoNet:

GeoNet is the place where you can share, chat, and collaborate on all things geo. It's your chance to connect with other geospatial enthusiasts around the world.

Its positioning as a replacement for the old Esri Discussion Forums is evident in its ArcGIS Discussion Forums Migration Strategy link.
