Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for cartographers, geographers and GIS professionals. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm thinking on a similar approach as gapminder.org, only that this plugin would contain GIS-data, not only statistics.

I'm specifically interested in if there is a plugin like this for QGIS.

If there isn't one, why is that? Isn't it genius? =}

Thanks

welcome to GIS.stackexchange. Could you post more information about what gapminder.org does, and what functionality you'd like to see? –  Simbamangu Apr 26 '12 at 13:38

Thanks!Gapminder has gathered a lot of statistical information on countries from a bunch of different sources. The browser app at their web page lets you select any two attributes (like GDP, average age, pollution, road construction per year, etc.), put them on the x, resp. y axis and se where countries turn up over time. It's really neat! –  Henrik Apr 29 '12 at 12:28

I'd like to see a plugin that collects GIS-data from a bunch of different sources, gives them correct and matching georeferences and lets you just kinda turn them on and off as you please. And lets you import them at witch point they turn up like a ordinary layer in QGIS. –  Henrik Apr 29 '12 at 12:30
