Like ArcGIS Server, is there a way to host, geoprocessing tools onto Geoserver?

The way to do this would be using the Web Processing Service (WPS) extension to GeoServer which has installation instructions here.

so i need to add a py script which is creating shapefiles from MySql db and then I need to manually host those shp files on Geoserver. With adding WPS i should be able to add those shp files directly right? – Sam007 May 13 '12 at 6:47
I'm interested in GeoServer WPS capabilities but am not working with them personally so I will have to leave your followup question to someone else who is hands-on in this area. – PolyGeo May 13 '12 at 23:12
@Sam007 - With this level of depth you'd probably be better off asking on their mailing lists. – GIS-Jonathan May 14 '12 at 9:14
sure will do that – Sam007 May 14 '12 at 13:40
