Looking for transmission power line / power station vector (shapefile) data in the country of Turkey. KML/KMZ files would also work. Found great vector data here yesterday for roads, rivers, etc: (http://download.geofabrik.de/osm and downloads.cloudmade.com) Turkish vector data thread

http://www.platts.com/Products/gisdata has some but not they are not cheap... looking for a cheaper or free source... any ideas?

Your unlikely to get this data complete through Turkey without cost get this data - there are many electricity companies in Turkey - they will be very restrictive in use and formats - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_companies_of_Turkey –  Mapperz May 24 '12 at 17:18
Thanks for the input Mapperz... any idea if that wikipedia "list_of_power_companies_of_Turkey" might have some way of obtaining the x,y geocoded data using wikimapia.org? –  sirgeo May 24 '12 at 18:12
