If I overlay postal codes (Zip Codes in US) over census tracts where postal codes are usually larger than census tracts, how can I get a table of what percentage of the area of the census tracts are under the postal codes? Or the area of the census tracts that are overlapped by postal codes. Called areal overlayr areal interpolation.

So you want to extract an intersection of where the two layers overlap and calculate the total area? – Geoist Jul 17 '12 at 21:51
