I have the following parameters of a custom imagery and I need to set-up a layer in OpenLayers with which I would project the tiles properly from this imagery.


TransverseMercator
ellipsoidName=WGS84
equatorialRadius=6378137.0
inverseFlattening=298.257223563
falseEasting=500000.0
falseNorthing=0.0
origin=[latitude = 0.0 longitude = -117.0]
scale=0.9996

I apologize that I did not provide you with enough information. I do not understand how projections work and will appreciate any information that could lead me to a solution.

Do not hesitate to tell me what other information would be useful.

I found that WGS84 stands for EPSG4326, but this one is for a spherical mercator which is different from transversal. I am consused. – dt1510 Sep 27 '12 at 23:09
I don't know anything about openlayers, but the definition is WGS 1984 / UTM Zone 11N (N = North) or EPSG:32611. 4326 is a geographic coordinate reference system while 32611 is a projected one. You may want EPSG:3857 aka 900913 which is the Mercator based on a sphere that many online map providers use. – mkennedy Sep 27 '12 at 23:29
EPSG:3857 is a spherical Mercator, isn't it? However, I would like to project to a transverse Mercator. In my understanding, these are two different incompatible projections. – dt1510 Sep 28 '12 at 15:44
