Here is the scenario. You have information that comes in through a text doc that you can convert to pdf. On the pdf are written Long/Lat to show location of work to be done. In shapefiles you have parcel data that shows street addresses in the attribute table. Obviously the shapefiles has its x/y fields that shows the different addresses that shows them on the shapefile when you open it. Is there a way to when you open the pdf file to view it...the coordinates that are written in text open the location of the shapefile.

Hi, I have some questions ... Are there multiple files or just one? Are the features polygons or points? Are you saying you want to click on a coordinate pair in the PDF and as a result QGIS will pan (and zoom) to that location? – andytilia Oct 24 '12 at 21:23
