I have a raster map(sed) that I want to calculate the spatial mean of specific region and display that as a layer.I do not just one value,I want to display the area too(even if the value is the same everywhere).. I have a another raster map called river.SO I want to do this: calculate the spatial mean in (sed) as long as river = 1.

No scripting is needed: zonal statistics are available from the menu, the toolbox, and command line. Please take the time to read through the help so you can learn what options are available. – whuber Nov 9 '12 at 16:46
