I am trying to find the distance between 2 points using Road Graph. After I enter the points' coordinates and hit calculate, the route comes up but is not touching either point, and usually it is not within 50 km. I haven't touched the snapping settings and my topography tolerance is 2.5 km. I am thinking that I am using too large of an area (I am finding the distance between Bozeman and Denver on US Highways). Any help would be appreciated.

Why did you set the topo tolerance so high? Road Graph creates (routing graph) nodes based on this tolerance. It might snap any kind of connections together with such a high tolerance. – underdark Dec 5 '12 at 12:20
