I have 2 shapefiles, 1 municipal boundary, 1 x properties (3000 Geomertien) I would like to form a spatial difference, this unfortunately does not work with the vector functions of QGIS. thank you very much

Check the geometries of your shapes before mixing them. Also try to assign both shapes the same projection. –  Curlew Jan 4 '13 at 13:38

You might try another free GIS package - gvSIG, MapWindow, OpenJump, uDig, Grass. –  klewis Jan 4 '13 at 14:30
