I'm having trouble averaging 12 rasters in the raster calculator. I keep getting a 000539 error, which I assume means that the syntax in the equation is bad. The problem is I dont know whats wrong with the syntax or how to remedy it. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

fyi. the equation I enter is ("raster 1" + "raster 2" + ... "raster 12") / (12)

What happens when you simplify the expression to ("raster 1" + "raster 2")/(12) or even to ("raster 1")/(1)? – whuber♦ Jan 18 at 19:30
