The question is, once set up Geoserver and having all layers accesible, we need to print a portion of the city in a paper of size A0.

When I wan to print a city, if I zoom to the city extent, I loose details on the map, that would be needed in a printed square meter paper.

So you want to use QGIS, GRASS< OpenJUMP to load a WMS/WFS layer from Geoserver and then print the content? – Niculita Mihai Jan 29 at 6:48
Yes, but if I print what fits in the monitor, I loose all labels. And if I zoom to the desired size I only get a small portion of the whole area I need to print. – Martin0x777 Jan 29 at 19:49
