Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for cartographers, geographers and GIS professionals. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am trying to load my data from postgis to geoserver, and when I try to publish them, I don't get all the fields from the database and when I click on reload field type it does nothing, also I have a warning icon beside saying :

Reload a class of objects imply that all connections to the warehouse to be interrupted

and here is the log:

    2013-05-12 23:45:28,244 INFO [geoserver.catalog] - Disposing datastore 'salemed'

Please help me figure out the problem, thanks.

It might help if you can tell us how you set up the PostGIS installation, how you set up the GeoServer installation, and what data elements do and do not appear. –  BradHards May 13 '13 at 1:06

i set up PostGIS with Stackbuilder3.1.0 i installed th postGIS 1.5 for postgreSQL 9.1 v1.5.5 and for geoserver i uploaded the code fom github and import it to eclipse (i followed this tuto docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/developer/quickstart/index.html) and the data that don't appear are the primary keys (4 fields) in the two tables.( i guess that's the source of the probleme but i don't know why) –  Geographic May 13 '13 at 8:15

and the for field that compose the primary key are: 1. nature character(1) NOT NULL, 2. num integer NOT NULL, 3. indice character varying(10) NOT NULL, 4. complement character varying(100) NOT NULL, –  Geographic May 13 '13 at 8:24

Thanks for following up. Can you please add an answer ("Your Answer", not another comment) that summarises this information, and then mark it as the answer? –  BradHards May 13 '13 at 14:45

1 Answer 1

Finally I figured out the problem.

While writing the datawarehouse from Postgis, I forgot to check "expose primary keys"
