Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for cartographers, geographers and GIS professionals. It's 100% free, no registration required.

For the web mapping project i'm working right now, I use the combination of geoserver/postGIS/openlayers. MapQuest Geocoding API Web Service is the only API that fits my needs, but its too late now, to switch to Mapquest. So, is it legal to use it with the aforementioned programs? The project is NOT commercial by any means. I would like to take the (lon, lat) came form the MapQuest API and use it to render a point on the openlayer's map. Is this legal or not?

Thank you.

Either asking the question directly to mapquest or providing the reference documents terms of use that you consider limitations. And perhaps then it would be more appropriate for the legal site being formed on area51. area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/48901/legal –  Brad Nesom Jun 3 '13 at 0:26
