I am trying to create a raster mosaic (in ArcGIS 10.1) as I am working with many asc files - I am trying to put all the different tiles together in order to run a view shed analysis. I have been told that the instead of adding one asc file at a time I could combine all into one by creating a raster mosaic, but the problem is when I do create a raster mosaic, it comes up as empty green squares. I have also calculated the statistics and built pyramids but they seem to have no impact.

I was wondering whether anyone could tell me how I can get the terrain to actually become visible as I am using elevation data. As always any information would me immensely appreciated!

This is the input or result (mosaic)? If result, what do you see when you uncheck the box Footprint? Have you tried to go to the image properties and set stretched symbology with reasonable minimum-maximum? –  nadya Jul 31 '13 at 23:23

Thanks for that! this is the result and if I uncheck the Footprint everything disappears - its just a blank screen. I have set stretched symbology with mini-maxi but it still appears as green squares and without the footprint it just a blank. if you have any other suggestions I would very much like to hear it! –  user19622 Aug 1 '13 at 2:10
