Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for cartographers, geographers and GIS professionals. It's 100% free, no registration required.

WFS-T sends a xml post request to server and OSM api also requires xml post request. But the syntax of the request are different. I am a heavy mapper, and develop app using OSM data. This is for mobile use, to enable data entry on field. I have already tested vespucci, android osm editor, and others android apps(osmand, osntracker). I even tried using iD on mobile, but didnot get satisfactory results. I have successfully used the osm api to change the attributes(tags). I want to be able to create a polygon and add some attributes to it. I have a very specific use case, and i want to develop a custom app. Since Openlayers already has a wfs-t, i thought it best to adapt it.

With enough work you can convert the formats but I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to edit OSM use the OSM editing tools. –  iant Aug 26 '13 at 17:35
