I have a street network file, and I want to add a section of road to it.

I start editing on the road network dataset, snapping on, create a new feature line road segment from the edge of the old road to where I want it, click save edits, then stop editing. I then calculate geometry to determine the cost of the road in km, which works fine.

When I create a network dataset from this it adds in the junctions in the correct places, however, when I try to solve a route to the end of it there is no connectivity.

How do I fix this? Thanks.

Did you re-build the network dataset? – dklassen Feb 17 '14 at 19:25
Yes, that is how I know there is no connectivity – user27045 Feb 17 '14 at 19:25
Where you connected it - did you break the existing line? – dklassen Feb 17 '14 at 19:29
No it just attaches perpendicularly in the middle of an existing line – user27045 Feb 17 '14 at 19:38
Great. I also think if you wanted to - you could have broken the existing line. I have done this before but perhaps will use the Integrate tool moving forward. – dklassen Feb 17 '14 at 19:57
