OpenScales seems to be one and it appears to be endorsed by WebMapSolutions.

Not your full answer, but a starting point: var timeInfo:TimeInfo; if (layer is ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer) { timeInfo = (layer as ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer).timeInfo; } else if (layer is ArcGISImageServiceLayer) { timeInfo = (layer as ArcGISImageServiceLayer).timeInfo; } else if (layer is FeatureLayer) { var feaLayer:FeatureLayer = layer ...

Have you check out this sample from ESRI http://resources.esri.com/arcgisserver/apis/flex/index.cfm?fa=codeGalleryDetails&scriptID=15956

Edit: sorry, my original answer was incorrect. Problem is the spatialReference of the input geometry cannot be understood by 9.3.1 (i.e. wkid 3857). Easy fix, simply set the spatialReference of the input geometry to 102100 before assigning it to the GP Params: var g:Graphic = event.graphic; g.geometry.spatialReference = new SpatialReference(102100); var ...

Assuming your talking about this More tab: This is visible in the default configuration for the current v2.2 Flex Viewer. * I assume you want to know how to remove it, as it maybe having sync problems with the TOC widget or perhaps you just don't need to show the layers via the More button AND the TOC widget? I can't take credit for this, but found your ...

I suspect you are missing a cross domain policy file - a requirement if your viewer and maps are hosted on different servers. See the ESRI documentation for more details on the cross domain policy. Also, using a web traffic tool like Fiddler or Firebug can help a lot to determine why you don't see your map. It will answer questions such as "is my map ...

Yes, you can use it. Here is ESRI's example: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html?sample=ArcIMS You should look into the ArcIMSMapServiceLayer class: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/apiref/com/esri/ags/layers/ArcIMSMapServiceLayer.html

You might wanna take look at http://openscales.org/ never used myself i always used JS or ESRI silverlight, but should be quite similar to the openlayers API. It support OSM, WMS, wmts , WFS-T... So with a Geoserver (or any other OGC compliant GISserver) backend you should be able to build similar apps as with esri stuff.

Yes, when you have a map referencing data registered with ArcFM (i.e. converted to ArcFM objects), you can publish a map service provided you also have the ArcFM Server installed. Once a service is successfully published, you can access it via REST and SOAP APIs just like any other plain service.

I want to be able to call this function after a MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE event in order to measure the line on the fly First off, some words of caution. I implemented similar functionality in a Flex app awhile back i.e. When user moved mouse around the map, it kept pinging the geometry service for the distance or xy coordinates and displayed it ...

I have written one and posted it in the code gallery, not all KMLs are supported yet, but loads a few basic ones. Hope it works from you. This is for ArcGIS Flex 2.4.... http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d6b993ef803249f486e83edd3f94239b

The download link for the old Swipe & Spotlight tool is http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=16566 Note that this was build with Adobe 3.x SDK and will not work with Adobe Flex 4.0/4.1/4.5 SDKs.

Searching for "map tip" on Esri's Flex API site yielded these results: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html?sample=MapTips http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html?sample=InfoWindowRollOverSample

This is not configurable with the compiled version of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex. Assuming that you are a Flex developer, already familiar with and working with the source code, and using the latest version (currently 2.3.1). The relevant file is widgets/SearchWidget/SearchResultItemRenderer.mxml and at the bottom of that file is where the source property ...

Not tested this, but this widget could do what you want: DESCRIPTION: To Allow the user to select any shape file in zip format (that is example.shp – for geometry and example.dbf - for Attributes, are only files to be zipped) and display over the current Map as graphics. Actually it creates a custom geometry to take advantage of the ...

This thread on the forum suggests that there is (or was in 2010) no support for Google Maps in OpenScales due to incompatible licenses.

pdog, Here is a thread where I answered that in the ESRI Flex Viewer forum: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/48126-Layer-List-Widget-is-it-possible-to-only-allow-one-selected-layer-at-a-time

Usually it is in root folder of your webserver environment. This example is working setup for xampp-php-postgresql+geoserver (my personal choice). To bypass flashplayer security restrictions such as to enable access for bitmap manipulation i put this crossdomain policy file <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www....

To do this look at AddToolbox and/or ImportToolbox where it says: While any of the core ArcGIS toolboxes are accessible by default in a script, your own custom or third-party toolboxes must be added using ImportToolbox to use them in a script. I've pointed you at 10.1 documentation but have successfully published Geoprocessing Services at 10.0 from ...

@kishor, the problem you're having is due to the Flex framework not natively supporting animated GIF (it does support GIF, just not animated GIF). In other words, you won't be able to use animated GIF without going behind the back of the framework. However, it seems there are options available to you. Check out the AS3GIF library composed by Thibault Imbert ...

There is Openscales core API documentation - quite abstract for all of this documentation: http://openscales.org/api/current/openscales-core/ Openscales Core flash-10.1 http://openscales.org/api/current/openscales-core-flash-10.1/ OpenScales Flex http://openscales.org/api/current/openscales-fx/ others OpenScales Geometry http://openscales.org/api/...

this is the code locateResult.content = "Address Matching " + getDefaultString("resultScoreText") + " " + (addrCandidate.score % 1 == 0 ? addrCandidate.score : addrCandidate.score.toFixed(1)); to produce this:

The problem is that flash does not really have a different Thread for the UI. SO when you are running the code, the UI does not draw. A work around would be to have a timer, and on the timer event, iterate to the next graphics and make it visible.

Here is a thread in the ESRI Flex Viewer forum where I explain why this is not possible http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/54004-Make-InfoWindow-popup-open-to-the-left-or-on-top-of-widget...

It's not possible to do so, using a symbol. What you could do, is to create a polygon at that location, according to your image. It will expand and contract as you zoom in & out

While possible, I think you would be better off using a basemap that supports the polar regions. Either an "un-projected geographic" that at least cover the poles (as supposed to web mercator). Or one projection focused on the north pole and another on the south pole. Some example "un-projected" services are: http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/...

Success! After re-compiling the Search Widget components: SearchResultItemRenderer.mxml, swf., .xml, and SearchWidget.swf. Also had to adjust picture size in SearchResultItemRenderer.mxml in code here: as well as here:
