comment Heat map / Density map from dynamic points table in MapServer (GeoServer)?
@dowi you're welcome =) sure! server side is the best when there are a lot of points, in any case you can use WMS and pass that with mapserver/geoserver to openlayers/leaflet. Using strategy cluster you can speed things up.

comment PHP examples to replicate FeatureServer capabilities
@Michael Mackiewicz thanks for the reply, but I want to use PHP scripting instead, I think it shouldn't be that harder but still want to take a look at some really nice examples, just that. I know about TiniOWS as well as microframeworks, but I am not after those ones.

thanks zimmi, but I need to make interactive queries, I know this is done in the client (for me OL), but afaik a need an script that makes those calls in the server side, that's why I was using featureserver+geoalchemy, and I think PHP could replace these ones.

comment Mapserver: “Premature end of script headers: mapserv,”
what are you trying to load with gdal? that msProjectRect message refers to a known error according to this: trac.osgeo.org/mapserver/ticket/1999 and this lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/mapserver-dev/2003-March/005263.html. Basically, a degenerate rectangle (whatever that means). When I use grids, I use the same grid cell size for x and y, perhaps that's your problem.

comment all-in-one gis packages for windows 8.1?
I tried before Xubuntu in a VM, but it was slow, probably because I had only 2GB RAM which seems to be not enough according to some readings. That's why I opted to install everything directly in windows, but I need to deal with apps that run only in unix/linux environments such as seismic unix, and they are related to gmt through simple bash scripts, moreover I need to query my pgsql db to map things, but don't want to boot to linux as I used to do. I think the solution is simply to stick with win8 and call things from cygwin, but I need to query my db from it, would that be possible?

OpenGeo Suite looks nice but no money at all to have it. OSGEO seems to be what I need, I will take a closer look at it, thanks.
