comment Erase shapfile (polygon) area from GeoTIFF
QGis yes, I know I can do it in ArcGis, but I want to add this processing step to my bash script, that's the reason why I'd like to use command-line tools such as GDAL.

comment OpenLayers 2.11/2.13.1: Working example to group layers in LayerSwitcher
sorry for the noise, I just needed to add map.addControl(new OpenLayers.Control.LayerSwitcherGroups());, so it works great, thanks!!

Thanks a lot Thomas, I tried it with OL2.11 and 2.13.1 but it doesn't work, what version have you tried? when you said Just include the Script after your OpenLayers.js you meant in the script tag or in the OL Control lib root?

comment Google bathymetry service with OpenLayers Mouse Position
it was simpler than I thought, the good document.getElementById() did the trick: $(document.getElementById('height_pos')).html(ht);, thanks!

comment Google bathymetry service with OpenLayers Mouse Position
Hi DevdattaTengshe, just a small question, in case I stop using div map to plot my map, and start using the whole window browser (ie. with Ext.Viewport), how could I send the #height_pos to the map? I tried CSS solutions, eg. position: fixed, but without success so far.

comment Need a simple sample mapcache.xml file that works with mapserver
Indeed I use Ubuntu here, so just got mapcache from the Ubuntugis repo. I also checked the link you suggested, at least someone is working succesfully with cgi, that's is what I prefer. In any case, if you post a clear, detailed and very useful answer about using mapcache through eg. WMS I think it will win if it works well.

well, I think it could be through WMS, the problem if I'm right is that through WMS I would have to add all the details of my WMS layers in the mapcache.xml, and using CGI would be simpler (ie. mapcache fetches all layers details directly from the main MAP file), am I right? does it work that way?

comment Automatic indentation for MAP files in VIM
awesome, thanks a lot for that, I surely need to tweak it a bit, I just opened a MAP file and got Error detected while processing BufRead Auto commands for "*.map": E475: Invalid argument: =map, but it looks great so far, any idea about that error message?

@Luke the problem that it throws terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::length_error' what(): basic_string::_S_create Aborted, so ECW cannot be created, that's the actual issue.
