how can i use the postgresql's Geometric Types Are you just looking to build a web map of the locations? If you don't have an existing ESRI installation you might look into open source web mapping options. I don't have much experience with them, but there are a ton of questions about them here. |

how can i use the postgresql's Geometric Types Postgresql is just another relational database management system. As far as integrating it with ArcGIS you can sit SDE or Server right on top of it and use ESRI native geometry, no need for PostGIS. You can also use SDE / Server as an interface to PostGIS, here's some information on which versions are supported: resources.arcgis.com/en/help/system-requirements/10.1/… |

Importing shapefile in grass Can you post the output from v.in.ogr when you try to import the shapefile? It looks like you're on the right track, maybe something in the output will stand out as the issue. |

Is there a difference between ESRI's NAD83 Indiana SPW and QGIS's? I've only used EPSG:2966, and that's the only one I've seen on data from state and/or university sources from around here. Thanks for the offset calc! That puts my mind at ease. |

How to import GEBCO bathymetry into QGIS? Excellent! If you want to have that done automatically, go to Settings -> Options and on the Rendering tab you can pick which settings gets used by default when you load in a raster. |
