Since taking an introductory course in GIS five years ago I haven't looked back, spending much of my free time looking for new ways of presenting data. My interest particularly lies in the application of GIS for disaster management, search and rescue and incident command. The GIS programs I worked on previously had limited potential for learning and performing some of the more advanced GIS work, but QGIS has opened new and exciting doors which I am exploring with glee.

How do I repair NVIZ error: 'Can't find a usable init.tcl'? I am using the latest version of QGIS and have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but it doesn't work (seems to keep everything in memory and I'm not sure how to clear that). I'm using Windows 64bit. |

Error when importing vector layer into GRASS After many fruitless attempts, I finally changed the columns around in the spreadsheet and voila! It worked. Thanks for all the help offered. |

Error when importing vector layer into GRASS I'm using QGIS 1.8.0 (GRASS 6.4.2), and yes, I'm using Windows. There seem to have been some files damaged or moved when I installed some new plugins a while back. Even though I manually replaced some of the files, QGIS has never been the same again and I'm wondering whether that doesn't have something to do with it? NVIZ for example would not run until I had replaced a couple of the missing files. Found another issue the other day, and finally just gave up on repairing it. |
