How to consecutively number polygons from north to south following a polyline? I do mean lines... should have mentioned that, my bad. |

How to calculate most efficient route passing through all the houses in the world? Good news! You won't need to get to every house on the planet. Since you only need to visit christian children, there are only ( 15% christian out of 2 billion children, appr. 3,5 children per household) roughly 100 million houses you will have to visit. |

How can I merge segments to one segment in QGIS (picture inside) and than get the center of each road? The dropbox-file seems to be empty, so I could not use it. But using the singlepart to multipart tool I was able to merge some lines of my own. |

How to consecutively number polygons from north to south following a polyline? I am currently trying to reorder the vertices with mixed results. I have gotten so far that vertices that origin from the same polygon now lie next to each other. But im proving on that approach will have to wait until after the holidays since for the next couple of days I have no access to the data. |

Error when importing vector layer into GRASS You can check the validity using Vector -> Geometry Tools -> Check Geometry Validity. |

How to consecutively number polygons from north to south following a polyline? @ Jens: I would like to start with the north-western polygon and go reading style to the south-eastern polygon. Using your illustration: A1 C2 B3 F4 E5 D6 I7 H8 G9. |

How to consecutively number polygons from north to south following a polyline? Unfortunately this does not work. If I calculate the IDs for the points, the spatial distribution is kind of random, which means ID-2 is not next to ID-1 and so forth. The next problem is that I could only use this approach on those polygons that touch the line. |

Error when importing vector layer into GRASS Have you checked the layer's geometry validity? I had the same trouble recently and that did the trick for me. |

How can I merge segments to one segment in QGIS (picture inside) and than get the center of each road? I'm kinda running out of ideas... you could save the shape as a new file and try again, maybe that does the trick. Reinstalling ftools/GDAL tools is also an option. |
