Converting point data into a weighted raster Ive passed this information along but we haven't had time to test it yet! But when we do i can try this and accept an answer! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster this sounds pretty good! I will test it out tomorrow and let you know! thank you!!! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster this does sound like a good method! ..Do you know which bits i would need to script? I've only ever done some very, very basic python scripting before! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster What i have been thinking is that i would build a formula based on the DIFFERENCE between the 2 numbers, so if there was a difference of 0 (in the case of -20 and -20), then the buffers would start between the two points, but if there was a difference of 1 then the buffer would start 60% between the two points.. i am just wondering how to execute this! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster Sorry it has taken so long to reply - i was hoping the problem would just go away but it hasnt! The problem with a formula is that because all points will be relative to each other, there will never be one definitive linear_unit which we can set. e.g. if a -20 and a -20 were next to each other - then the buffer would start equidistance between them, but if -20 and -10 points were next to each other, the -20 buffer would start 75% between it and the -10 point!! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster I have just been reading about the voronoi diagram and it does sound like what i am trying to do! And i really like the sound of it being "straight forward" to create!! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster I mean the distance between the 2 points.. so if they are 10m away from each other and one is -20 and the other is -25 then the -25 buffer will start 2.5m from the -20 point! |

Converting point data into a weighted raster I dont actually have any rules as of yet - today i will work out a definate formula and then get back to you!! Thank you so much for your help! |

Point to Raster Issues all of them! All of the statistics tools, and all of the tools which come with 3D analyst! I have tried all combinations i can think of! I think arcmap is freaking out because all of my points are on top of each other (im making a subsoil model) and it is getting confused that way.. but i cant think of a way round this! |

Displaying z-values in arcscene In the properties window there is an option which says "Layer features have Z values. Use them for heights", but it is greyed out. I converted my point shape to a layer but it was still greyed out! |

Setting Rasters to the exact same display sadly i dont have access to it! Im just looking for a way to do it within arcmap - i suppose i should of said that! I will change my question! |

Displaying 3D subsoil models in ArcScene It's exported as an ascii (so terrible) but we have some script which converts to an shapefile - i will try this out thanks!! |

Two rasters created from the same polygon have different extents? I have attempted to recreate the raster with using a cell size of 0.01 but this still gives me an upper extent of 503001.535094748! |

How to use python to turn a .dbf into a shapefile It turns out i was described the problem incorrectly - its not the .pmf we need to update it is the shapefile! Which we then need to export to the client - do you have any links for this? |
