comment Merge Point Data and Raster using ST_SetValues in PostGIS
"So if you know the X/Y you can just fill it in with the matrix of values instead of using geomval." I have read the documentation and couldn't figure this one out. Could you post the code?

comment How to modify a PostGIS function?
Thank you. It looks like ST_PixelAsCentroids() is built upon ST_PixelAsPolygon() which is written in C code. Having very little experience programming in C it will be difficult to edit but I will have a look. What is the complete path the to C files?

comment How to fix “Raster layer: Provider is not valid” error when loading PostGIS rasters?
I'm on QGIS 2.4 with Xubuntu 14.04, PostgreSQL 9.1 and PostGIS 2.X and I get the same issue. Need some solutions, or means tosome solutions.

comment Collecting multipolygons into a single multipolygon with ST_Collect() in PostGIS
I didn't require the ST_Buffer but thanks for the heads up. A good answer.

The ST_Union worked but I'd really like an answer to a ST_Collect! I will mark it as correct for now :-)

comment PostGIS query losing geometry column information
It's just for viewing purposes and involves 50,000 odd geometries so it'd be great to be able to collect the multipolygons in one unified multipolygon without having to actually break down the geometry. Regardless, this is probably another question. You have solved the issue I had.

Yeah I tried that. Just took me back to where I started with an uncollected geometry.

This solves the issue per se but unfortunately I cannot cast the output as MultiPolygonZ but only as a GeometryCollectionZ which is not able to be plotted in QGIS. How does one cast to as multipolygonz instead of the collection?
