@MertToka No worries. Welcome to the field! I'd advise using QGIS to view the data - it's a single band tif file, and the values don't scale nicely for viewing in photo viewers (think of it as a 2d array of data). To get started take a look at the documentation on Loading Raster Data in QGIS

Thanks @ChrisW - the adjustment report looks pretty well what I'm after, as I'm really only interested in changes to existing geometries (I've updated the question above to hopefully reflect that).

@PolyGeo None in mind really. Ideally we were looking to script the process long term, and I'm pretty biased towards Python, so I'm leaning towards QGIS / ArcMap, but I'd be just as happy to do it directly against the database. I don't imagine the implementation will be too hard (famous last words), more wondering if there's an accepted standard.

comment Python, OGR and Mapnik: Possibility of passing existing ogr.Open() datasource into Mapnik without using mapnik.Ogr()?
@elrobis Happy to help! I've modified the answer above to pull back fields (and keys) directly from the layer. That said I agree with Dane that long term it would be better to get the VRT layer working with the OGR plugin.

Polish off the code example so you don't have to specify attributes etc.
