I am a software developer in the Phoenix area. Currently I work with C#, ASP.NET MVC4, EF6, HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, Angular, SQL, SSIS, ESRI. On the side, I am learning iOS and Swift. Long ago, I worked with C++, VB, Delphi, and Fortran.

comment Why is there no Map.SnapToLevels property in the ESRI JS API?
Thanks! It's good to know that there is a solid, performance-related reason for it being the way it is.

comment MODE_SNAPSHOT or MODE_ONDEMAND? Issues with both, which one to focus on?
Initially before, but also after, when we can remove and add layers (as part of changing "themes").

Thanks! Yes, the performace is much better with ONDEMAND, as we are not doing a TimeSlider but applying a date range from two calendar controls. Does the not rendering until mouse moved sound familiar? That is the only negative we have with ONDEMAND.

Not visibly, but when I tried to check with F12 dev tools, I noticed it was in Compatibility View (but not Quirks mode). Switched to normal IE9 mode, and could no longer inspect the size of the map div (wth??), AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. So, it appears this has something to do with IE9 Compatibility View.
