Outside of work I'm active in the Foursquare superuser community. I am a Superuser 3, the first ever in fact. When Foursquare moved from the Google Maps API to MapBox, I became a heavy mapper on OpenStreetMap. I'm learning more about that everyday. I recently gave a talk about mapping bus relations on the openstreetmap.us Mappy Hour.

How to view the Area of Selected Feature in ArcGIS 10.1? It looks like I'd need a custom tool for this. As Dan C mentioned, its possible to make the conversions in a field. However, all I want to do is view the area. For that I'd have to program something. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. |

Is there a way to erase GeoTIFF header? A great option for this is to use IrfanView (Windows). I just converted over a hundred TIFs to PNG back and forth. This program is a great viewer as well, but the conversion options were many. |

How to view the Area of Selected Feature in ArcGIS 10.1? I was hoping for it to come up in a window, or at the console. Nothing fancy. I'm learning python so I think I might be able to figure it out eventually. The program would basically: get selected feature area, convert to acres, print result. |

Is there a simple tool to split polylines into two-part lines at the vertices in ArcGIS 10.1 Ah, so this tool splits the features alright, but it requires a different output dataset. I need to split the live data. |
