My Identicon looks like four shurikens with big arrows pointing at them as if to say, "This dude's Identicon has shurikens in it. SHURIKENS."

Rename a SpatialPolygon class object in R The output of dput(tmp2) might be more useful - it would give us something to play around with. E.g., it would be helpful to be able to see the results of str(tmp2), class(tmp2@polygons), str(tmp2@polygons), and so on... |

File organization for sharing ArcGIS python code Anyone who finds this workflow appealing should definitely take a look at the version control software Git and its popular repository-sharing website, GitHub. It gives you all of the above - a master script, defined privileges, and broad accessibility - with the ability to track all the changes made to the script (including date and author), experiment with new features while preserving the production version, manage multiple editing the same files simultaneously, etc. It's more complicated to use, but I've found it to be immensely useful. |

[R]Function to calculate mean for missing or NA values in a dataframe @GodinA I think that your best bet in that regard would be to start thinking of your data as two correlated time series. I don't have much experience with time series data myself, but the topic of missing data in time series comes up a lot. Check out this search on stats.stackexchange.com - I think that'll get you started, at least. |

Buffers of public transportation transit times @dassouki I'd love to tell you, but I unfortunately haven't had time to work on anything but research in months. This is the month in which most of my research projects are wrapping up, however, so I sincerely hope to have an update by the end of the year. |

Recommendations for road maintenance management (on a small scale) This is a great idea, but the title of this question cracked me up nonetheless. |

Geocoding that's anonymous, good, and free - does it exist? Very relevant - thanks, Victor! |
