comment Changing Data Source of Layer in QGIS
Probably easier to teach them how to add the data, style it and label. You can copy the style and paste it so that should be easy, don't know about labels. Since what you are describing isnt really GIS or editing it shouldn't be that difficult. Alternative maybe be to make a standalone program to replace source as a qgs file is just text

comment Using arcpy.mapping.ListLayers() with no filter, but some layers are missing in list
Can you add a screenshot using the source tab, that would be more helpful to diagnose why the 4 layers aren't picked up

You want something like this? picpaste.com/pics/line-cDE0fn12.1430330169.png Only thing is the line needs to be drawn from node-node

comment Is there a solution to glitches when deleting features from Shapefiles on network drives?
In the long term you should probably look at using Postgresql/Postgis in the network drive and move your data to it, QGIS has native Postgis edit support and you can export to whatever format you need. I would suggest you file a bug in hub.qgis.org so developers can look at it

comment How to remove “ERROR 1” messages from a standalone QGIS script?
Since you are apparently only looking to write Polygons you can run an if/else statement where you catch the point geometry and only write if its a polygon, you can even write the point data to another shapefile if you want to check the results or to a log

Are you using projected coordinate systems or WGS 84? Also why would you want to use v.distance instead of calculating the length as an attribute?

just a guess here but do you actually have a schema called schema?

yeah thing is it works in a previous version, we are testing in the following days with Collate because in Postgis it is using "XXX.XXXX" and if we changed this to "English,XX" it works. So maybe dot notation is the culprit here.

comment Is it possible to export a XSD from a GML
To me it seems the XML contains GML references but its not purely GML, something like AIXM data for aviation extranet.eurocontrol.int/http://webprisme.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/… so you would need the XSD I guess for what you need. What ETL tool are you using?

comment Importing kml google earth polygons to QGIS
try this first, using openlayers plugin add google satellite view and since you created the polygons in GE they should match, if they don't you have an issue there. Although your problem may be more related to the fact the MrSID file you have you dont know its projection, MrSID projection information is held in a file *.aux, do you have the file in the same folder of the image
