comment How to get India OSM map offline in geoserver which looks similar to online OSM map?
i have not used those style in production only for testing and it was a few years ago but i remember that polygons and lines were more-or-less rendered ok, but points were missing or incomplete. Maybe something changed in the meantime. So i can not give a straight answer why it isnt the same as OSM. I am sorry. Currenty I am using Mapproxy combination in production. I have connected Mapproxy to the OSM and then i connect Geoserver cascading WMS to the Mapproxy. I lose image quality that way but it doesnt matter much to me.

I now it can be done with Filers but I it is almost impossible to create so many different rules. I would need to create all possible combinations for fill, stroke, stroke-width, font type, etc. etc. Unfortunately I do not have access to this data any more but I have solved it by creating a web service that dynamically creates SVG based on URL parameters. URL is generated from SLD dinamicaly from database. Good thing is that Geoserver has very good caching of symbols and there is very little overhead of this approach.

comment GeometryCollection styling in Geoserver
@iant if I filler by geometry type, I get geometry type geometrycollection ... what to with it then? With filtering by geometry type I do not get point, linestring and polygon.

Yes, I understand this, but I have geometrycollection which has points, lines and poligons, how can I select particular type from that geometrycollection object?
