My original background is in civil and water resources engineering, but I am into open-source GIS and web mapping these days.

I am interested in bringing open-source GIS and web mapping tools to cash-strapped, rural local units of government in northern Michigan, USA, to enable them to more effectively bring public domain geospatial information to the general public.
