comment How to maintain integrity between changing street network and geocoded points?
"Topological integrity" is a very broad term, and I am curious as to exactly what you mean by it. Do you want the nodes that you geocoded to be part of the street edges? Because using parcel-level geocoding with corrections can easily put the geocoded points on some part of the parcels and still be "topologically correct"

@celenius Mapserver and GeoServer will both allow you to do that.

Mapserver is definitely a great alternative from GeoServer (I use it for some other projects). Generally, I pick geoserver for my customers because it has an easy to use interface. Nevertheless, I wanted to point out that serving tile caches is serving static content, and any solution based on nginx (or any other non-blocking server) would be far faster than any apache solution - in either process-based isolation or threaded mode.

comment How to avoid Google map geocode limit?
For the javascript portion, I assume you know how to create a web service, so the call would use something like this api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax of whatever you decide to do. Going into more details about how to write a web service or ajax call to a webservice is really outside of the scope of this forum

OK. Php then. This bit from the Google Documentation should include the mysql and php part code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlgeocode.html

comment How to call a DLL file from VBA?
Mike's answer is correct. The ESRI object browser will only show you objects that are registered in the right component category (did it come with a separate reg file???)Kirk's remark is very valid, too. You could be dealing with a pre-9 dll and it would not work since the object libraries got refactored for 9.0 My question to you is why are you trying to do this. If it is to create Thiessen polygons, this equivalent to driving from LA to Vegas, with a minor bathroom stop in Taiwan.

Also, you will need to give more context about how the marker data gets into your system in the first place

What is your backend CMS? (I assume you can/know how change it and just want a simple example that shows how to do that in your language of choice. You don't need an example of a client side js, or do you? Are you using any js framework like jquery?

Thanks. I maintained/extended the reconcile code in ArcObjects for three years so I played adjusting this behavior throughout various ArcGIS releases. I omitted a few things to try to simplify the concepts. I hope it is clear enough as an answer.

Also, most people dont know this, but (as long as the states have not been completely compressed away), you can add an entry to the VERSIONS table for any state id that is still valid, and then use arcgis to happily browse, edit, and even reconcile that version using standard ArcGIS tools. Versions are just labels to state ids that force ArcSDE to keep those states alive.
