Can we use GeoExt Freely? Ext is free for commercial use, so long as you can adhere to the terms of the GPL. If you can not (Or don't want to figure out if you can), you can purchase commercial licenses. |

How can we improve the OpenLayers documentation? For the record, very few OpenLayers developers use stackoverflow compared to the number of users and developers who are available on the mailing list. In general, I see the same dozen people on Stack overflow -- but the OpenLayers mailing lists have more than 1000 people signed up to them. So, SO isn't always your best option to get correct answers quickly. |

POI Datasets for North America TelaAtlas doesn't have (as far as I know) a public API to get access to their data. Nokia doesn't have a public API to get to their data. OSM doesn't have an interesting set of POI data -- they have some limited, spotty coverage, like GeoNames, but it's not at all a source that you can use if you want to actually have a comprehensive set of POIs. bit.ly/1anyma has more information. |

POI Datasets for North America In general, Geonames does not have an interesting set of POI data. (For example, a worldwide search for "Eye Care" will find a dozen results in Iowa, but none in other states...) They may have a smattering of user-submitted data, and perhaps even some limited data in other areas from various sources -- NGA's GeoNames dataset certainly includes some things in this vein -- but it's nowhere near complete enough to consider as a resource to use in the way most people want a "POI database". |
