Developing GIS Application on Android Those operations may be a bit too ressources consuming for the type of hardware Android devices usually have, I would suggest instead [if your requirements allow it] to run them on a webserver (e.g. use PostGIS) and make a web application that Android can use. The added benefit is that you'll have a cross-OS application without having to make one software per OS. |

Choosing an aggregation strategy that will be spatially represented on a google map It should be fine given, as the zoom changes, the resolution gets higher as well (I assume you would draw the heatmap per zoom level [otherwise it could get pixelized if the image get stretched], however I never used that library (we use Bing instead)). As for average being good: it probably is (plus it's the easiest to get started with: if the result looks visually strange, you can always fine-tune it afterwards). |
