I'm a software developer, focused on GIS. PostGIS and GDAL committer. I'd love to add 'where' to people's lives.

What is the fastest (performance-wise) way to serve PostGIS features? Sounds good. Right now, I'm rendering the pols and serving them via WMS. I think the client won't handle millions of polygons at same time, but I may be wrong... |

What is the fastest (performance-wise) way to serve PostGIS features? Thanks. I'm considering 2 options: render my polygons and serve them via WMS + cache (there are millions of them, maybe too much for the client...) or try to serve my polygons via WFS + cache. I'm working with the first option right now. |

What is the fastest (performance-wise) way to serve PostGIS features? I've heard about tiny OWS but never used it. Thanks for suggestion! |

What is the fastest (performance-wise) way to serve PostGIS features? Ubuntu 10.04 32bits 512 MB RAM, running under a VMWare Server. It's a development machine, but I don't have access to another one yet. It should work reasonably well here (a requisite) |

Mapserver can't write in /var/www/mapserver/log/ Thanks for your response! Yes, apparmor is enabled, and I can't disable it :-(. I changed the log path and now that part is working, but the SLD parameter still fails with a ServiceException: |

Is there any way of merging two sets of tiles with gdal2tiles? Yes, I tested with gdal_merge, but the problem is some tiles contain part of the hole, and part of valid image. There's no simply some blank tiles representing the hole. Those tiles would be easily replaced by valid ones. Thanks for your suggestion, anyway! |
