comment How are EGM96 and WGS84 related to each other?
Good explanation. WGS84 (elipsoid) and EGM96 (geoid) are two different models, with different applications. When you see a height in a map, it is usually a height over the geoid (orthometric height), but when you get one from a GPS device, it is usually a height over the elipsoid. There are online tools to transform between them as needed, using what it is called geoid undulation. E.g. geoid-height-calculator

comment How to Create a Vector Field from Separate u and v Data Files?
This question is old, but just in case: there is now a plugin for that: plugins.qgis.org/plugins/VectorFieldRenderer

comment Is it possible to define a part of a geometry column as the Primary Key in a PostGIS database?
You could try with a trigger to validate your constraints on INSERT and UPDATE (with ST_Equals) and perhaps a simple sequence for your PrimaryKey

comment Problems setting up eclipse (with PyDev) for ArcGIS 10
I never tryed it before, but I have the same issue: <arcpy.da.NumPyArrayToTable(whatever...)> = "Undefined variable from import". It seems like we are missing some other path or having an import problem... I'll try to find it.

comment Query a georss feed
I'm consuming the feed at the server side, so I think I'll go Linq to XML this time, but I'm gonna have a look at GeoXML, because I didn't know it. Thank you Mapperz.

Thank you for your answer, OptimizePrime. I'm using this geoRSS feed in a WCF service. I'm not using any geo-library yet. I prefer to keep it simple and I think I will do some filtering in my own.
