comment Can ArcGis accept SQL field names with spaces?
@Midavalo's view workaround is a good one, and would be necessary in situations where you don't have the "luxury" of renaming all of your tables

comment Centering Leaflet Map on Website
@StephP you need to take a step back and look at the fundamentals of HTML and CSS. The above code doesn't make any sense - you have content elements outside of the body, for example. Try to get your desired outcome using simple HTML shapes, then worry about the Leaflet elements once that's working. Eg start at w3schools.com/html/html_layout.asp or a similar tutorial

comment How do I ensure data uploads correctly - Categorize schools by criteria
it sounds like your dataset is a delimited file (eg *.csv) and the column delimiters are getting corrupted somehow (eg a comma in a value is being interpreted as a column delimiter). Try importing the file into Excel or similar, and verify the data integrity

comment How can I display my Excel file in Arcmap 10.4?
I'm glad you resolved the first question. You should ask a brand new question for further enquriies, to help keep Stack Exchange a simple one question plus its answers site

Unfortunately, geodatabase Topology isn't available with a Basic license

comment IDE's that play well with python toolbox
I've recently migrated over to PyCharm and really like its debugging capabilities and the ability switch easily between *.py files - both are much better than in Idle

comment Printing at defined scale and paper size from ArcMap?
A tip is to check "Scale map elements proportionally to changes in page size" when changing the page size - otherwise you can waste lots of time re-sizing and re-positioning your map elements

comment GIS data for fast food industry
Just be aware of any "terms of service" on the websites being scraped - using the information in this manner is (probably) against their rules. I do it too, and am in a constant state of fear ;)

comment Trying to use Python to clean up null/bad data in Lat/Lon Load
Also note that in Python if x=0 will actually set x to equal 0. You need to use the double-equals operator if x==0 to test equivalence - see Built-in Types Comparison

comment How to add a layer to Web AppBuilder at run-time
@AlexTereshenkov as far as I know the Local Layer widget doesn't allow it, so I guess I'll need to write my own functionality - thanks

comment How to add a layer to Web AppBuilder at run-time
@AlexTereshenkov exactly - and they should be able to add them using a REST endpoint URL, eg sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Specialty/…

comment How to georeference a tile downloaded from Google Maps
@DPSSpatial that implies that gdalwmscache understands how to reference an image based on its xyz index - is it possible to obtain that information? ie, is the caching scheme of Google Maps documented anywhere?

comment How to georeference a tile downloaded from Google Maps
@DPSSpatial probably not. The layer I'm scraping comes from a third party, so it's probably against their ToS. I'm still curious about whether this is possible, even if I don't actually use the ill-gotten data

comment How to georeference a tile downloaded from Google Maps
@FelixIP yeah all I know is the grid reference and zoom level of each individual JPG. I've added a screenshot to demonstrate this. PS I realise this is slightly dodgy, but sometimes it has to be done - plus it's an interesting exercise!

comment Identifying flow of a Wastewater Network
It may be total overkill for this project, but if water network tracing is a large part of your business you could look at ArcFM, which is a utility-specific solution built on top of ArcGIS. In particular their water tracing algorithms and functionality are much more advanced than standard ArcMap
