comment Remote sensing: How to start with interferometry?
I'm interested in several themes (geology and forestry are on top), but say deformations in an infrastucture.

Hi. Thanks. The scope is the monitoring of deformations in a given surface but I'm open to answers in other scopes.

comment Which remote sensing satellite is best used for vegetation extent mapping
@David about the pan sharpening comment: indeed, if you want to analyse the spectral information of the image (e.g for automatic classification purposes) it is better not to change the original values (DN) of the pixels. But for visual interpretation/classification or if you want to perform automatic segmentation, using the pan-sharpened image will be of great utility.

Landsat 5 TM was the satelite refered, so ~30m resolution. But I agree with higher richness of Landsat. The idea though, was just to automatically map where vegetation exists. And as you said, for that matter, both let you generate the NDVI. SPOT just gives you better spatial resolution. Free SPOT 5 images?! thats nice!
