comment User accounts set up and publishing Add-In through ArcGIS Server 10.1
One last question (might be nonsense): Is it possible to keep "C:/temp" separate for each individual -- so that each user can see their own "temp" folder (otherwise there will be naming conflict for same files generated by different users)?

What if I want to store each user's intermediate files to a folder (say: C:/temp) rather geodatabase -- is it possible?

I want users to run ArcMap with saved *.mxd file online to do geoprocessing (not to download anything) -- so I think I need geoprocessing services. Also, I would like their intermediate processed files to be stored in unique scratch folders so that there isn't any conflict while multiple users are online. Can I create temp folder for intermediate files for each user through any of server tool?

toolbar is developed using pythonaddins. ArcGIS 10.1 server supports pythonaddins?

comment Scratch workspace for ArcGIS Desktop: file name conflict for multiple users
I saved scratch workspace for *.mxd. Each user clicks this *.mxd to start the session and all sessions are therefore linked to same scratch folder but how do I save scratch folder by concentrating a username -- is it done in code or manually? [please spare my lack of understanding here]

Thanks. It worked as I need.

comment Divide stream segment at specific point
I have found a solution. Multiplied stream link with flow direction and then used that new stream link raster to get watershed layer (used all outlets). It gave me updated stream link raster.

I am doing it all using arcpy and wondering how it can be achieved using Multipart to Single Part?

A new shapefile is created every time before running above tool. Points are then added. It was somehow storing the points whenever I clicked on map but was not displaying it.

Wait, it worked. I restarted my machine and now it is displaying points :)

comment Split line at a point with ArcGIS 10.1 Basic level license?
@MichaelMiles-Stimson: I can make use of a python code and merge it with my pythonaddins code. Total use of a 3rd party tool is not feasible.

Can I embed a tool within custom dialog then to get XY location by either using Python Add-Ins or wx?

comment A tool as part of a dialog box
I want a tool within a custom dialog box which gives same functionality as 'Select by Location' tool -- A custom 'select by location' is what I am looking for as long as I get layer location.

See my updated answer. r"C:\temp_ras" could be any raster data from your workspace which has same cell size as you want in your final output.

comment Same field names as given in text file (in a script)
@ChrisW: I answered myself. It is a duplicate except I also figured how to do it in a standalone script.

XY_Event_Layer name is declared for both input table and feature layer.

The join field is same as before with arcpy.JoinField_management but original names as given in tables will become Field names if use arcpy.env.qualifiedFieldNames = False. You can control it from "Environment/Fields" if running inside ArcGIS.
