comment Convert XYZ tile request to a WMS request
I'm having trouble understanding your actual question. DO you want to convert from XYZ tile request to bounding box for WMS? or do you want to convert from XYZ tile request to ArcGIS Server's cache System of ZXY?

Do you have a specific study area in mind, or do you want to run this process for the entire country? What format have you kept the data in?

You need to explicitly set the LODs, projection and extent after you add the new layer.

comment How to remove ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer completely
The extent, projection etc, are set when you add the first layer. If you want to overwrite it, set it again when you add the second tiled service. That should work.

comment Can I set individual scale levels for an ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer?
Any specific reason why you want to do it from the client side, instead of setting it when publishing the service? Additionally, please let us know the ArcGIS Server version that you are using.

comment Efficient way to provide cached tiles?
I'm having trouble understanding your actual problem. Do you want help with the downloading of tiles, or Creating the tiles, or storing the tile? Furthermore, what server/service are you using?

comment Upgrade strategy for geoserver 2.1.4 to 2.5.x
I always just take a backup of the data directory, uninstall the old version and install the new version. So far I haven't had any problems. But I'll wait for someone more experienced to answer this.

comment Google Maps has inconsistent zoom level / scale ratio
@cpa: No you can't vary the zoom. The zoom levels are fixed, and even in one tile, the scale will not be uniform in different directions.

comment How to hide overlays in Leaflet layerControl if geojson var not found?
You need to think your architecture properly. Ideailly you would load the geojson file via ajax, and if it is found, then draw it on the map, otherwise give an error etc. As your question currently stands, it's not clear what you are trying to do.

comment How to proxy GeoServer through Tomcat in Windows?
you need to place a proxy in the webserv that hosts your application, not the tomcat that hosts the Geoserver.

comment Reading Points as PolyLines
From the screen-shot it appears as the shapefile contains polylines. Why do you think it does not contain polylines? Are you reading the headers correctly? the specification is available here. Can you post the headers here?
