My code so far can be found here: github.com/atlefren/AFMParser Seems to work for me, does this seem sane? (see especially test.py) Sorry for the lack of test data, difficult to publish data that's part of ongoing research.

comment How to configure Geoserver WMS to make it printable from QGIS/ArcGIS?
Maybe this could help: comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gis.geoserver.user/24086

The reason I (think) i need a CRS is this: if i just create, say a GeoTIFF without assigning a CRS, the unit of measure will be pixels. What if I want to measure distances? And, what if I have two AFM scans and know how they relate to each other (in terms of scale and offset from some point). Having a CRS assigned would facilitate the viewing several scans at once

Thanks! Guess this is more a comment than an answer. As far as nanometer scale goes I'd say that whatever works is great, but a true nanoscale peojection would be the coolest. When it comes to sample data I'll have to check if there are some restrictions, but it's basically a 2 dim matrix of int16 values.

In short that is the answer, yes, but I was looking for a more elaborate answer. Like, what are tha actual problems of versioning a raster? How do you deal with the change of one node in a vector polygon with thousands of nodes.

comment How do you get all info from GeoJSON layer in Openlayers?
or use map (I use underscore.js): function createInfoTable(feature) { var headers = { "landgrabber": "Land taken by", "landgrabbed": "From country", "hectares": "Hectares" // etc. }; return _.map(headers, function(name, key){ return name + ": " + feature.attributes[key]; }).join("</br>"); }
