Seeking commercial web service for LIDAR/DSM data in USA That's on target... but is it really the only answer? |

Seeking commercial web service for LIDAR/DSM data in USA I read this in Forbes: Then Levine heard Microsoft was compiling a half-meter-resolution model of the entire country--by far the most ambitious surface map ever assembled. Levine visited the project's headquarters in Boulder, Colo., where three air-conditioned trailers filled with computers gnaw on 16 petabytes of data (1,600 times the size of the Library of Congress' printed collection). |

Seeking commercial web service for LIDAR/DSM data in USA By "real time" I mean I can query the lidar database and get data back in a few seconds. I'm not expecting that involves flying aircraft :-). Of course the data should come with metadata giving the sample date(s) for the region returned. |

Seeking commercial web service for LIDAR/DSM data in USA If such a service existed (web service returning LIDAR points) would there be demand for it? As a paid service? A free service? |

How to extract data for a specific area from OSM? I do exactly that, carefully keeping the version number of each OSM object, for conflict detection at the time of upload. That said, I agree the OP probably was not intending to edit, and I amended my answer to match. |

How to extract data for a specific area from OSM? While you are probably right, the OP could well be improving the data and intending to return it to the server. That said there are a dozen ways to get the data that don't hit the API. |

How to extract data for a specific area from OSM? There's no evidence in the OP post about their intent for the data. But I'll add an XAPI link (to the one that works, not the OSM one). |

How to get nearby tiles from a location? Would you try to improve the question with more context, and tell us what you've tried so far? |

Viewing .las format LIDAR data in QGIS? So far I'm having some good results with lasview.exe from cs.unc.edu/~isenburg/lastools , which is at least letting me verify the data is reasonably good. |

Viewing .las format LIDAR data in QGIS? Is there anything more digested or step-by-step? There are a lot of gaps to bridge there... |
