comment Problems with NA values when reading .DEM file with R 'raster' package in Windows
different workaround: convert your file using gdal_translate (from 1.8) to eg geotiff. This may load correctly

Updating rgdal is not obvious, and will require recompilation of rgdal. More info here.

I've updated my answer. You are mixing up a lot of things. First of all you are using the wrong module. You are also not setting the parameters to anything sensible. Check the parameters for the module you need as explained in the wiki.

I don't have time to give a full answer, but read the wiki, especially the last sentence: you have to edit the file to work. Perhaps it is better to base yourself on the examples in the wiki rather than on the autogenerated file.

I have downvoted this because the in_memory part only refers to arcgis, and the problems that need to be solved are in saga. Still thanks for trying to help out though!

comment pgRouting for postgresql 9.0?
pgrouting.org/docs/1.x/install.html : you need postgresql>=8.0. If you are running a more recent postgresql version you should provide info on what you tried and where you got errors to get any sensible answer
