Note that mapguide open source has a LGPL license and that there is also a closed version: Audodesk Infrastructure Map Server

Your own link from Geo Wizards actually represents the algorithms fairly well. What more do you expect?

Markj: I also think mapserver is the best option. For the external wms clients you have to add maplayers, but the rest of your mapfile can stay identical. Setting the scale/extent can be done through mapscript.

If you consider this option, you could also look to libharu (in C) or older versions of iText (java)(newer have a AGPL license which will not fit your purpose).

Still no access to python here, can you try return Parms('POINTS').asPointCloud() instead of return pSpc ? I hope this works (in C++ both work, my python knowledge is the limiting factor here).

google sys.arg, first hit: docs.python.org/library/sys.html ; you run it from the command line, but of course you could also specify the filenames any other way.

different workaround: convert your file using gdal_translate (from 1.8) to eg geotiff. This may load correctly

Updating rgdal is not obvious, and will require recompilation of rgdal. More info here.

I've updated my answer. You are mixing up a lot of things. First of all you are using the wrong module. You are also not setting the parameters to anything sensible. Check the parameters for the module you need as explained in the wiki.

I don't have time to give a full answer, but read the wiki, especially the last sentence: you have to edit the file to work. Perhaps it is better to base yourself on the examples in the wiki rather than on the autogenerated file.

I have downvoted this because the in_memory part only refers to arcgis, and the problems that need to be solved are in saga. Still thanks for trying to help out though!
