comment Generate GeoJSON from MongDB Query
sorry, meant 'brackets' in that comment, not 'braces'. instead of "features" : {blah blah} it should be "features" : [{blah blah}]

comment Generate GeoJSON from MongDB Query
and on a bit more inspection, I see that the entire value of each of the 3 elements is almost valid geojson - first replace those objectid values like I described, then geojsonlint complains thusly: "A FeatureCollection's "features" property must be an array." If you enclose the value of the "features" property in braces to make it an array, it parses correctly.

comment postgis update multipolygon with st_makevalid() gives error
that's the ticket. I used the following to 1) find the invalid rows in PGAdmin, 2) preview them in the QGIS DB Manager, and 3) update them in PGAdmin:select geomcol, id, st_isvalid(geomcol), st_isvalidreason(geomcol) from mylayer where st_isvalid(geomcol)) = false; select id, st_multi(st_collectionextract(st_makevalid(geomcol), 3)) from mylayer where id in (123, 456); update mylayer set geomcol = st_multi(st_collectionextract(st_makevalid(geomcol), 3)) where id in (123, 456);

comment Understanding lifecycle of .NET geoprocessing tools on ArcGIS for Server?
To quote Emily Litella, "never mind". We had a configuration error on one of the two servers in the cluster, which prevented all the shared resources, including logging! from getting spun up. So I don't think I actually misunderstood anything, merely (re)learned a lesson ;-)
