comment Polygon shapefile has irregularities when viewed in ArcMap?
@Abdullah in ArcCatalog, open the original shapefile's Properties, Indexes tab. In the Spatial Index section, click the Add or Update buttons, as appropriate.

Have you tried deleting or rebuilding the spatial indexes on the shapefile?

comment Arcpy turns off all fields in a MXD file that all of the values are Null
@FelixIP a)The code doesn't remove any fields. nullFields is a Python list object containing the names of fields. The resulting list contains the names of fields with only null values. Don't confuse the remove method of a list object with arcpy.DeleteField_management. b)The only way the code would not check all records is if it found at least one non-null value in every field, which would leave nullFields as an empty list.

comment Arcpy turns off all fields in a MXD file that all of the values are Null
The code above determines all of the fields in a feature class that contains all null values. You can add whatever code you need to 'turn off' the fields in the resulting list, and wrap it all in a loop that will examine all of the layers in the MXD.

comment Field Calculator not showing some fields
You might want to try removing your normal.mxt file to see if that helps, before doing a full reinstall.

comment Export data driven pages only in changed mxd, with arcpy script
Do you want to re-print all of the pages in an MXD if any of them changed? Then you might be able to use os.stat to get the last access time of the MXD, and use functions in the time module to determine if it has been accessed 'recently'.

This really isn't an ArcGIS 9.2 question. I don't know why that tag was added.
