comment Burning road network into DEM?
@taggatmot a 10m DEM will not allow for single lane roads. Just keep that in mind when you are doing your "burning"

With this process you will want to consider road width, as roads will vary according to the number of lanes. Unless you have a high resolution DEM, "burning" roads into a DEM could create more issues that its worth. What resolution DEM do have access to?

comment How to scale SVG symbol based on zoom level in QGIS?
I am not sure about the data driven size. I thought degrees would be the only other option, unfortunately those projections are not visually pleasing.

comment How to scale SVG symbol based on zoom level in QGIS?
Thank you @Underdark. This does what I want, however, I am working at a scale for North America, and there are sizing limits in QGIS. You can only use up to 5 digits, so the largest value I can use is 99999 map units, which is much too small for displaying a word cloud at a continent scale using the EPSG code of 3978. I suppose I may need to choose a different projection. Can you suggest another option?

The beauty of open source is that you can look at the underlaying code, and use it and/or modify it. You should download the plugin and look at the code, there you will see the algorithm you are looking for. Not all answers here are exact or definite, you as the user need to be critical and know what is being provided to you.

comment How to install Spatialite-GIS on Windows?
I have switched, but I wanted a lite weight GUI for non technical GIS users. QGIS can be a bit too much for someone who is not a GIS user, but needs to look at data

What do you mean by archive? Are you wanting to store everything into a database? Or on a file server?

comment How can I tell who owns a particular piece of property on a map?
This is a massive privacy concern. Most places have this information, but it is controlled by local authorities. Many of them do not have it digitally-spatially available. You may have a very tough time finding what you want, especially if you want it for free.

Thanks @gene. I think I resolved it, the folders were hidden. I downloaded the module and placed it in the site-packages location. Thanks for the help

Please excuse my ignorance, as I am a new convert to Mac from Windows. I used terminal to install ExifRead, so I am not sure where it "went". Is there a manual process I can do, to ensure it goes where it needs to? I do not have that path /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages I do not even have the Python folder.

Intersect the pit locations with your TIN to find where you have locations of 60degrees. Then just analyze those locations

Your going to need to make a DEM or TIN
