Have you loaded the correct version of Leaflet itself? cdn.leafletjs.com/leaflet/v1.0.0-beta.2/leaflet.css and cdn.leafletjs.com/leaflet/v1.0.0-beta.2/leaflet.js

Be careful with this however as it's not supported pre IE 11 : caniuse.com/#feat=pointer-events
